add a turbo to '91 7.3 4x4 auto

Your best bet is to find a turbo off of a truck of the same engine family...
The 1983-94 6.9 or 7.3 idi (NON_POWERSTROKE!) engines are all of the same family of engines and if equipped with a turbo will fit your engine without any mods...
You have to keep in mind that there is allot of "stuff" (other than the turbo it's self) needed to turbocharge your truck. There's the exhaust and turbo pedestal, oil return lines, intake tubes and filters, intake hat, and different injectors and injector pump.
With all the parts that you need to turbo your truck it's best to use stuff thats made to fit your truck. But some have used single and twin turbos from other vehicles/applications and fitted them to the idi. It takes allot of work to do this kind of swap and from what I've read you don't see much if any advantage...other than the chance to say "I built it"...lol.
You can some times find used turbos for our trucks here at FTE in the for sale forum, in the local classified adds, ebay, or the local wrecker... and I've seen them at: Car-Part.com for cheap.
hope that helps...
EDIT: I should say that the injectors and injection pump are not needed to turbocharge your truck... but you'll see the best performance when you use them.
