Low Profile Castle Nut?

I just installed Moog cc844 1 ton 2wd coils in my f150 and ran into the same problem that Macintyremustang did, namely that the new spring is touching the castle nut on the camber bolt.

I thought I had seen a thread in here where someone posted a pic of a shaved down or lower profile nut for clearance. This sound familiar to anyone? I want to get the truck aligned on Monday but don't think I'll be able to in this state.

I'm not familiar with the thread you're talking about, but if you've got a bench vise and a grinder you can modify the castle nuts you already have by clamping them in the vise so the castle side is facing down, then grinding off what you need from the bottom.

Just a thought.

Dorman has some low profile castellated nuts in with their axle and spindle hardware.

I don't know what size and pitch you need, but you might look in their catalog. (or through the orange drawers if you still have an old school parts store around)
