400 Stock Cam Spec?

Does anybody here know the stock cam specs for a 400 (1977)?

Or, at least, how it compares to the Comp Cams 252H?

I'm not looking to perform any major work on my engine, but I will be changing out the timing set some time in the future and am wondering if I can just get away with using the stock cam or I'd be better off replacing it...

The engine was rebuilt and doesn't have that many miles on the new components, including valve springs...

I'm not looking to win any races, but it would be nice to have the torque...

Thanks

Th stock cam is a mild one, with low ramp rates but long duration from seat to seat, and you will benefit alot on the 252h specially on the torque side

Ah, ok... That answers that question... Now to the next question:

With the 252H, will I have to change out the valve springs or can I use the existing ones? I've read that the stock springs can't handle a lift more than .488 and the 252H has a lift of .468...

there's cam info in the Bubba files

M-Block 351M/400 Parts Reference

stock cams are gas hogs for not much in return, the 252H is a great low end cam, there's also 240H but it would likely severely limit the rpm potential of a 400
