I pulled this 302 out of an 85 f150 to put into this truck and am only now realizing that the clutch linkage is different. I have a 300 in it right now and the clutch has a ball that screws into the engine to anchor the other side of the clutch linkages.
What do I do for this 302 for a mechanical clutch? Does anyone have any pictures?
Dunno if it would help you or not, but ive got a mechanical clutch bellhousing for a 302/351W sittin in my garage. Bought it when I swapped a manual into my truck, but didnt realize until after I got it home it was for manual linkage, and I wanted hydraulic. Its yours for cheap if you need it.
I have the tranny and the bell housing that mate up to the 302. My problem is that I don't know how the hell I am going to hook up that mechanical link. in 85 they didn't have mechanical clutches so I don't even know if there IS a way to do this \
Is gonig hydraulic my only option? or should I just stick the automatic that I have on the end and call it a day...?
i had the same problem i went to the junk yard and looked around for a braket that bolts on to the trans, i found one for a late70s ford it works but its not exactly the right one, there are proper ones out there for it.
Sorry, I dont know what I was reading before. You should be able to just replace everything, all the way up to the pedal if you need to. Otherwise to go hydraulic you will need a different bellhousing
after calling every parts store and junk yard around me I found an all ford junk yard near me. He says that he has about 10 of the darn things So I just have to go down and haggle with him. Thanks guys!
