When you stop cranking, you should get power to the pump for a second or 2, then the comp shuts it off. A bad ground for the pump/ sending unit seems likely, but you say you have no power to the pump. Are you checking at the pump or just assuming it has no power since the pump isn't running? How are you checking for power?

That could indicate a bad connection somewhere, could even be inside a relay.

Yes, there is a common ground for both pumps and sending units:

G100, located on the radiator support behind the driver side headlight. The tank selector switch is also known to go bad, assuming you have 2 tanks.

just another thought. While cranking i can spray a starter fluid into the intake and it fires up. So if the computer applies ground while cranking should the truck at least try to start when turning over.It seems to never get fuel.

" It never seems to get fuel"

Why would you expect it to get fuel.. your fuel pump isn't running.
