trans question
Ok soo i've been looking for a transmission for my truck 91 f-150 it has the E4OD. what i was wondering is will a auto trans from a 92-96 work cause i know that ford changed something in the later years but i don't know if it's still compatible with the old ones.

I'm not an expert to be telling you for sure. From what I remember reading ( CAUTION: Don't trust this. My memory has been known to lie before. ) I think it was something in the wiring. Am NOT sure. Do remember seeing this discussed here before.

If the transmission comes from the same type of vehicle it will work. Ford changed the Solenoid Pack and connector in '95 as well as service updates inside the transmission. The wiring is the same, it's the connector that changed. Cut the wires and connector off the donor vehicle and splice onto your truck or get a connector upgrade kit from Ford.
