Snow tires + ?

We (family business) recently bought a 1995 7.3 4x4 SRW with a plow frame on it and we intend to use it as our plow truck.

My issue is this:

The front tires are worn far more on the inside edge than the outside edge. I'm going to imagine this is caused by one or more of the following 3: bad shocks, bad BJs, bad alignment

We'll attempt to remedy the tire wear issue and then put new tires on the truck. Any suggestions on a good snow tire?

Thanks again.

Depends on your budget. I have had excellent luck with this on all my fleet vehicles.

Im running Michelins and AIRLIFT. The added weight of a snowplow when you figure in Moment is about 2500 lb probably due to being so far fwd. Put the snowplow on a tractor w/cab. :>)

Unfortunately a tractor with cab just isn't an option. Distance between facilities that need to be plowed out is just far too great.

It's probably a half hour drive in a truck to get between the two farthest locations so a tractor is just not an option. Really need something that can move quickly and push snow. A 7.3 fit the bill.

Uneven tire wear caused by a bad BJ?? Is there such a thing?

I'm assuming that it's a 350 because you referred to it as srw? So that would mean that it has the D60. I would think that bad ball joints could lead to uneven tire wear, but might that scallop the tires more?

If its only going to be a plow truck then I would just use some Uni-royal Laredo's that are the stock, 235/85, size and just throw 1500-2000 pounds in the back. That truck will plow any parking lot that you put it in all day long and never be a problem. I have been running this set up for 3 years now and i never have a problem, only difference being that the weight sometimes comes from a sander. Just remember that no matter what kind of tire you go with the stock size is as good as it gets for the snow, the fatter tires do not work as well.
