2008 F250 6-speed 5.4L
This has always been around, but for some reason it has been bugging me more and more lately...
Whenever I'm slowing to a stop, I get a grinding/rattling sound from my transmission...
It doesn't matter if the clutch is in or out, or if the transmission is in gear or not...
This is the only Super Duty I've ever driven with a stick and a gasser, so maybe the diesels just masked the noise?
I have 3 years or 30,000 miles left for something to give out before I have to pay for it...

If it's on warantee you might as well fix it now. That noise is not supposed to be there and a lot of things could cause it. Most of the gears are turned by the driveshaft end including the cluster gear which is in mesh with the other gears even if they aren't locked to the mainshaft by the syncros. It could have always been there and just getting worse but I don't want to speculate what it is. They have to fix it.
