77 Supercab issue

In short we bought a used wiring harness to try and fix this ongoing problem with the truck. Tested all the wires from point A to point B and the only thing that seems to not be working is the "Directional Switch" (as said on wiring diagram). Apparently this is a 1979 only option? I went to the junkyard and a 76 didnt come with the darn thing. Anybody have any clue what else this Directional Switch is called? I searched for it on google and all i got was the actual direction ****. I need the little black box that all the plugs plug into. I checked LMC and couldnt find it in there either (unless of course its called something different). Anybody have any ideas as to where to find one?

Parts catalog pic shows the trailer tow 'safety' relay mounted on the left fender apron, but since these pics are somewhat generic, it could be mounted anywhere.

D2SZ14677B .. Relay Assy / MARKED: D2SB-14677-AA or D3AB-14677-AA.

If this is not the part in question...look on this so-called 'Directional Switch' (which the parts catalog makes no mention of) for an ID number, post what it is.

HoooRaaaayyy to me... I used the search feature and came up with this post!!!

It seems that I need this relay! My trucks Marker lights just flash and you can hear this relay clicking! I took it off the firewall and found that one of three treminals had broke off! My relay has the D3AB-14677-AA part number on it.

NumberDummy, does anyone have any of these any where?

so...

I went searching on line for the part numbers that NumberDummy provided previously and found that Rock Auto lists the part as a power window relay on early 80's ford cars $13.20 plus freight.

I then took the part number to my local Carquest and brought the part up in the system... Still available, but in the local warehouse! $32.00 from Carquest, and they would have it for me by 2pm!

Great, but let me check one more place and see if they might have one on the shelf! So I go to Advanced auto parts down the street, he takes the Carquest number and crosses it to his part number and comes up with the part for $14.00 and he too can have the part for the end of the day!

LONG story short I found one !! For the same price less shipping !

relay?

my truck has this relay D2SB-14677-AA
been trying to figure out its purpose. 73 f250, cs, 2wd, no ac, no roof lights, no trailer package, has a strong steel bumper with ball for trailer and wiring for turn sig, no connector. the three prong connector going to it had some melted wires, repaired. currently unplugged, everything seems to work fine. Any info-insight is greatly appreciated
Thanks
Jeff

Relay assy., accessory safety
73-up F100-350 w/ trailer tow package, use w/ camper package
D2SZ-14677-B marked D2SZ-14677-AA
Dennis Carpenter, Concord, NC has 20 (704) 786-8139
Green Sales, Cincinnati, OH has 12 (800) 543-4959
Plus there are a lot more out there, you could probably cross it over at the parts store and get an aftermarket version.
