Has anyone or does anyone have a nova/camaro sub-frame on their 1953-56 f100, if so how do they like it, and does it match up ok? Considering this as an option, but would like to hear the pro's and con's.
The die hard “you should only use Ford parts group” will probably not reply because they are too polite to tell you what they think. The GM users who out number the Jag/Dakota guys by two will probably share their info.
IMHO …….NO frame transplant lines up exactly and is a trouble-free job, some are better then others of course. Major welding and fabricating of reinforcement plates. Not a job for the inexperienced or faint of heart. Including rad and front of fender mounts.
Try to find a front end that has the steering box and tie rods forward of the cross member. Less problems when installing your engine (front oil sump) especially the left hand exhaust manifold vs the steering column linkage. I'm using a 1986 Monte Carlo. Not installed yet. There is a video float around of a camero into a F-1. Company named Bobco. I don't have info. chuck
