Turboded V10?

Is it economical to put a turbo on a V10? Would that improve mileage or is it a stretch?

Mileage gains will be minimal,if any. Power gains can be huge if you size the compressor and housings properly. There's a post in the Excursion section with a custom turbocharger install on a 2V, and several of us are looking into a custom installation on our 3V's.

What is a 2V? How do I know if I have a 2V or 3V?

That refers to the number of valves per cylinder used in the cylinder heads. '99-'04 F-Series trucks used the 2V (2 valves per cylinder-1 intake and 1 exhaust),and the '05-current F-Series uses the 3V (3 valves per cylinder-2 intake and 1 exhaust). Excursions all used the 2V and never got the 3V . E-Series Vans all used the 2V , and have never got the 3V.
