Thumbs up Coolant Filter Installed!

Yes I did it myself. It's not because I couldn't get any help since Chris offered to come down to do it.

It took me 3 hours to do it and I quite pleased with the outcome.

Here's the details:

1 hr to read, and re-read the directions and study the pictures.(2 full pages)

15 min. to install the filter housing.

15 min. to install the values and hoses on the fillter housing.

1 1/2 hrs to get up enough nerve to cut the hoses on the SD and install the T's.

And the results are in:

A normal F'er can do the job in under an hour with a lunch break. lol

Thanks Brian, that means a lot coming from a master mechanic like you.

I think I need to remove and clean out the coolant reservoir, it looked kinda nasty, like there could be come sand from the casting in there.

Nice work George. The photos are good also. How often do you change the filters?

I think from what I have read, that you should change the filters about every 3,000 miles or sooner until you get most of the sand out of the system. Then maybe once a year there after.

Have to read up on that part again.

I did this George....looked nice and clean for about 3000 miles.....looks like I need to do it again. Really hard to see the coolent running into the tank from the filter.
