Trouble with a vin on a 51

The decoder says not valid. What I have is on the frame and plate in glove compartment as best I can make out is FIRIAT 27369 the title has B1AT27369. Thanks for any help. Pete

Welcome to FTE. It looks like maybe the previous owner didn't have a title and went through the legal/DMV/state means to obtain a title and they assigned new numbers. As long as the title and tags match you are probally ok. Look for more information on the top center of the cowl over the engine for dates,etc. Others will be around shortly for more information. chuck

Ok, F1R1AT#####, first two, model, engine code, V8, model yr., build location Atlanta then serial #.

Just curious what B1 stands for?? Anyone know?? Is it the month and day, or color??

Yeah, B1 is what someone who doesn't have his glasses on sees when he's looking at R1. It stands for "Blind One."

(I'm begining to have that problem).

I might take your title and truck and to the DMV and tell them there was an error withth eprevious owner, and ask them to do a VIN check and reissue the title and registration with the correct numbers.
