I had to replace mine a while back and it being a 460, 5spd, 4wd, I could not find a used one. No one would carry one in stock and it was a 3-4 month wait to get one.

I found a place in Grand Prarie, TX and I overnighted it to them, told them about the truck, they fixed it and had it back overnight. 3 days, and right around 200 dollars to re build my original. Best deal I could find.

Just in case you need to replace PCM.

Alright, I know that this is an old topic, but I didn't want to waste going over everything like the OP already covered. My 1987 2.9 is doing the same thing after my wife got caught in a flood last week where I live. Flooded it up to the computer in the kick panel. I took it to a mechanic and that is his diagnosis after he had already put another distributor in it. The thing about mine that's different is when it starts missing like the OP's, I can turn it off, restart it and sometimes it will run like normal. Nothing wrong at all. So, what i'm asking is, where can I find a new box online? I live in a very rural area so if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. Seems such a pity to junk what is STILL a very well maintained, good-looking truck.

Wrong Forum, but you might try Napa or Rock Auto (Forum Vendor).

Where is the PCM on a 1993 E350 EFI 460? I'd like to check it out to see if it's defective. I can't start the engine unless the Check Engine light goes on when I turn the key to on. Maybe bad capacitors?

I'd suspect a bad ignition switch or faulty PCM/Main EFI relay. Do your fuel pumps run continuously when the check engine light is not on?

The computer is located in driver's side kick panel area, but it comes out under hood on the firewall.

The PCM Computer is located near the center of the fire wall (safety wall).
Pull it out and open it up and check the capacitors. Sounds like it could be the PCM computer that is bad.
