2003 f250 oil disappearing

hey, ive had some problems lately. truck is an 2003 f250 crew cab long bed 4x4 with the 7.3 problem is the oil has basicly disappearing no clue as to where. does not leak, not going through the turbo and fairly certain it isnt burning. truck has already been looked at by 2 mechanics who cant figure it out. for awhile we were adding several quarts a day. we replaced the amsoil air filter with a fram and truck was back to normal again until th past couple weeks when the problem began reoccuring. so far its not near as bad as last time. any help would be great. thanks

Several quarts a day?!

How many miles are you driving a day?

If its not leaking, then it must be burning it.

Maybe its leaking in the turbo or something under load, burning it cleanly away in the exhaust system?

Without a puddle on the driveway you need to give us more info. That truck sounds like a POS. No mechanic worth a dime would be dumbfounded here. All that oil is going somewhere. How does the truck run?

Just guessing, maybe the crank case vent is letting oil passed too easily and it is getting burned off in the turbo. Maybe excessive case psi. Just a guess.

Is your air intake tube wet excessively with oil?

could also be bypassing the injector oring and going into the fuel system.

It would be blue-smoking like crazy if it was burning several quarts a day. How much are you losing now?

Is your engine coated with oil? I have a small leak in my HPOP and turbo pedestal and my engine is coated with the black stuff. If you are leaking that much then you'd see it somewhere on the block if it was leaking out. There's no blue smoke? Have you checked the coolant?

I disagree.

I was burning almost a gallon of oil every 100 miles when I had this issue. Not saying the OP is having the same issue exactly but you can burn alot of oil if your on the boost and not have that much if any blue smoke.

Continued issues - Powerstroke Nation

There are only a few places it can go, leak on the ground, blowby into the cyclinder and burn, out the ccv and into the engine and burn, into the fuel system and burn or into the coolant.

My guess would be that it is getting burnt one way or another. Have you checked the coolant to see if you are gaining any? If its not leaking on the ground, and isn't in the coolant, then it has to be getting burnt in the engine.

Not really, before I changed my turbo my truck would use over 2 qts in a 750 mile run which is about a days drive and was never any blue smoke
With a gas motor it would smoke bad but a diesel can use a couple gallons a day and not smoke much

No puddle in the driveway means it is burning it. Two most common causes of this are dirty air filter causing high suction pressure which pulls oil past the turbo seals or turbo bearings are failing and have taken the seals out. You should see this if you pull the boot on the air pipe going to the after cooler. It will have oil residue in it. If it isn't one of these then you are looking at a more expensive problem, I have seen a head gasket fail where it allows oil into the cylinders but not into the coolant and no external leaks of oil or coolant.
