It should be 10* BTDC.

Here is an 89 example:

alright i am getting closer!! got it all back together tonite and drove it. great power down the road. but it still seem to lack the power it has when cooler. it's a lot better than before, i mean a lot. since it was dark out i check the manifolds and they still get red, but not as bright as before. still has a little trouble starting after it's been sitting for a about 5 mins. but it's not as bad either. so with all that said, i put my fuel pressure gauge on it again tonite. i have 38 lbs with just the key on, then start it up i have 36 to 38 lbs. with vacuum off i get 42 to 44. plug the vacuum back in and rev it up goes up to about 40 and then drops a bit when you hold it there, but it doesn't dope that much. it really drops when i rev it and then let off the throttle. as soon as i let off the throttle it drops to about 30 to 32 lbs. so i am thinking i have and issue with my new fuel pump. it's something fuel related, has to be.

You may also have a partially plugged up cat if you have one on there. It sounds like the vacuum may be a little low. Have you checked it with a vacuum gauge.

The fuel pump should put out about 95 Lbs PSI against a blocked head. The red manifolds does sound like the may be running a little lean. What color are your injectors?

no cat. the vac gauge i think said 10in, but i know that's low. might have to do it again. i really thought about taking the plenum off and changing that gasket. i have sprayed carb cleaning and just turned my propane torch on and there's no change. my injectors are light blue.

I thought light blue was the 24# injector for the Navigator. I thought the truck took the 24# white injector.

something just doesn't seem right, the motor really doesn't have a shake to it, but the rest of the truck does. say looking at my seats and stuff while it's at idle, they shake a bit, kinda odd. but they way it runs when it's cool. just seems like something stupid that i am missing. just wouldn't think it's the injectors. i don't know
