2003 V10 Fuel Line Replacement
Truck: 2003 V10
My problem: While replacing the fuel filter at 15000 miles I had a lot of trouble with the forward fitting. Because of all this trouble, I've been putting off replacing the filter until today, at 65000, fearing that I damaged the fuel fitting.
My fears were founded. Today I was able to remove the rear line from the filter with no problem. The front fitting just isn't going to come off. I can hear my fitting tool "click" to release the fitting, but it's not coming off. I've tried for over an hour. Been using the cheapo plastic release tools, but I don't think the tool is the problem.
The front fuel line goes from an all metal fitting to a braided hose, and then bent tubing. Do I need to replace this fuel line? Also, how big a job is it?
The truck is back together and running - No leaks, but I need to replace the filter now - it may be the cause of a rough idle.
Thanks again.
