94 f150 4x4 auto trans shifts hard all gears

I have searched and read a lot of threads and posts but would like some input on this one please.

I have a 94 f150 5.0 4x4 auto the trans says "metric" on the pan, I dont know the exact model trans.

last week it started shifting real hard(bang) between all gears, and aslo shifting into gear, or from drive to reverse--bang.

It did this for a day or two, then stopped. It was good for a couple days and now its back. Exactly the same, starts right away from a cold start in the morning right on thru the whole driving time...never changes at all.

new symptom, Last night when I went to back into the driveway, as I was backing up, it felt like the trans was stcuck in a forward gear as well as reverse. There was resistance as I was backing up, and I feel it was the trans being in reverse, but also getting some forward gear action as well...at least thats how it felt.

I saw similiar posts but nothing that had banging in ALL gears..so I wanted to ask for some more help...THANKS ALOT--TOM

Thanks for the reply....yes my speedometer is working but it does wander 2-4 mph while cruising on a highway..which was messing with the crusie control...but that was doing that for a long time before this trans problem just appeared out of the blue.
