are any of you guys contemplating a sas swap on your 87-96 Ford F150 4x4's. I am thinking about doing one but i would want some one in kentucky to ask or talk to about it.

 

Do you mean solid axle up front? If so it wouldn't be that hard. If you get one from a yard make sure to get everything that is under there.

 

i guess so i have heard a few people over the 87-96 ford trucks forum talk about doing a solid axle swap from a 1977-1979 ford truck.

 

If you find an 80's 250-350 with the solid front it would make it easier (except for the 8 lug part lol). The frames were the same so locatating the spring shackels is a snap. As for the lug thing the rear springs and axle are also a direct bolt in. The hevier rearends use the larger u-jionts like the Bronco but that is also easily fixed.

 

Looks to me like something i can look into lately. My truck either has to have a timing chain or a new distributor gear. so i am trying to get it back to running properly before i do anything suspension related.
