What is this connector, and what does it go to?

Look at the pic, the black 4 wire connector that is not plugged in, what does it go to?

Someone knows what it's for. Passenger side. right around the GP relay and those connectors that melt. (mines been cut and eliminated the connector, you can see it in the pic).

The piece on the top right looks like it may have gone to the low vacuum sensor.
Part on the bottom left almost looks like the tach sensor connector, but it should be over near the IP.

Low vacuum sensor is below and to the right of the vacuum reservoir ball with one vacuum line and one electrical connection with 3 wires in it..

Ok more info,

the wires are

Black with light green strip
Green with Yellow stripe
Red with Orange stripe
Yellow with Light green stripe

Beyond that, I Think Dave S. has part of it. The GRN/YLW and the BLK/LTGRN go to a connector that Dave pointed out for the Tach sensor, even though i don't have a tach or sensor, the connector in front and top of the IP..

I still don't know what the other two wires are for. Any more info Dave? those two half connectors go together. same wires on each one.

Most of the 86 trucks have the tach wiring in the harness weither one was installed ot not.

I was headed up to check my truck, but it is pouring the rain down, so that will be later.

The picture I posted on the inner fender wiring has a few extra things installed.
But it looks like you are missing several things on yours.
If I remember right there is anouther connector back toward the heater motor that looks like that, just don't remember what it goes to.

And looking at your picture, I do see the low vacuum sensor is still hooked up.

Not verified by looking at the truck, my schematic shows yellow / lt green to the horn relay.

Red/orange shows insturment cluster pin B1 for the amp gauge.

Thanks Dave! Thats weird, the connector is unpluged, but my horn works!

That could be why the amp guage never shows movement though.

As I said, those were the colors on the wiring schematic, not verified on my truck.

My amp gauge has never moved.
If you look at the schematic, the way it is wired it would never move anyway.

I went out in the dark with my flashlight to find out more. My horn wire is dark blue, so that solves that part. The two other wires (the red/orange and the yellow/green) go to the two big wires coming off of the alternator. They get spliced in inside the wire harness. Looks factory, but can't tell. My alternator has 4 wires, two big and two small. Small ones on top. Is that normal? I thought these had external regulators? I don't have one on the fender.

86 should have a regulator behind the passenger side battery.

Mine has two small wires, one big wire and a small ground connector.

Schematic shows yellow/green to the horn relay, blue from the relay to the horns.
