Anyone ID this rear window latch?

I ordered a new latch from NPD but it doesn't look like this. I thought this latch was original since the glass still says Ford on it.

Thanks

My '95 has the same one. My '93 had a cheaper looking one that broke. I like this one better.

God I love having a '90, seeing what kind of flimsy stuff the newer body style trucks got... my latch is all metal, and so tight fit it's a royal pain to open even with the truck not moving.

Not original.

The original was a crappy plastic strap-looking latch that broke if you move it with your middle finger instead of your pinky!

Here is the one from NPD. They say original part from 80-96. Since others on here have the same as mine I have to think it's original.

This is the correct latch. This is the same latch used from 1973 to 1996. On that note, windows also interchangeable in the same years.

Anything else was a replacement (as they often were) or the slider is an aftermarket one.

The latch they sent you would work great on my truck...mines broken. I have to close it about 3 times a day because it whistles while on the highway.

Hmmm...got me second guessing myself so I went and looked to make sure I wasn't nuts. I know I have seen the style like the one they sent you but the one in my '95 is the same style as the one you are replacing and as far as I know is OEM, like others have stated. Same latch exactly (well, except mine isn't broken.) Dunno.

That latch in your picture is a factory latch.

Have you tried the dealer? You may have to go to a salvage yard.

Thanks

My dad's '94 Flareside has this latch. I went to the dealer to get one and when I asked for one for the '94, it was showed the old flip style. They checked the '95 listing and it was the correct one shown in the pic.

Edit: I found the bill. The part number is F5TZ-1040860-A. The F5 tells you it's for a '95. But they did install them on '94 trucks.

Can I upgrade my old style one to this other style? I've replaced that stupid flip latch one 4 times in the year and half I've had the truck. I think my kids play with it. Grr...
