i drove a phillips head bit into my thumb, just at the edge of my thumbnail. when it didn't look any better after two weeks, i went to the doctor. the PA sent me for an xray and gave me an antibiotic. two more weeks and it hadn't changed much when i noticed a light colored sliver had come to the surface. i pulled out a big chunk of thumbnail and it healed rather quickly after that. dick r

I could say the same but it was on purpose! You see i had smashed my thumb real good with a hammer. You know the kind that throbs and throbs turns blue under the nail... Well i had enough and an old timer at work said drill a hole in my nail to relieve the pressure! I say ok... i should state i can not stand the thought of a needle! Well he takes my hand and starts to twist it back and forth and next thing you know i running around the shop like a little girl and they are chasing me for the drill is still stuck in the finger!! When it broke through, it hurt! Im getting sick just thinking about it! I can help others but if its my own blood... Im on the floor!!! LOL

I sat a circular saw down while trying to hold a sheet of paneling from falling, I sat it down on top of the coiled extention cord I was using, realized it, reached for it and while moving so fast ended up stopping the blade with my finger. I can promise you, that is one of those things you do just one time. Stupid me.
