Which new tire would you recommend?

It's almost time for me to replace my tires on my 2008 F150 FX4. I'm trying to decide between the OEM Pirelli Scorpion ATR or the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor.

Tire Size P275/55R20

I do a little bit of off-roading, and I want something that will give me good traction in the snow.

I was thinking about the Firestone Destination AT, but I'm hesitant to buy any Firestone products.

I just put a set of Hankook ATM's on my 07'. These tires rock! Awesome look with no road noise, and best of all were at a really good price.
Good Luck!

The Silent Armors are great on/off road tires that last. Plus they are made right here.

I loved my Silent Armor tires.

great ride, quiet, agressive tread pattern, look good. I took them offroad out here in Hawaii in the Lava Rock stuff up in North Shore. Did great. No cuts/tears, and got me through the mud & slick stuff.

I will buy them again when my POS Pirelli Scorpions are worn out.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Firestone tires. The Destination AT's are a great choice, but if you're still concerned with the brand due to the issues they had a few years back, then avoid them.

FWIW, I know a few people here who have had issues with out of round Goodyear Silent Armour tires on their trucks. Each has since replaced them with Michelin's. One of the tire dealers commented they had been seeing more issues with those Goodyears.

I'm still a huge fan of michelin ltx m/s tires. AMAZING traction in the snow.....better than the rugged trails and generals i've had off road in the past.....and they should last about 80,000 miles with the wear they've shown so far.....

I have Silent Armor P275/60R20's and I like them. The look good, seem to have good traction, and generally ride good. I did however have some balancing issues initially that led to my dealer replacing the two front tires. Much better now, but still have a slight vibration in the 65-70MPH speed range. Have ~25k on them now with good tread still but I expect they might only last to 50-60k. Not sure if I am going to buy again or not. Considering the Nitto Terra Grappler and the Michelin ATX. Hard to beat a Michelin in my experience.

I just put some Firestone Destination AT's on my wifes truck a month ago and so far she's happy with them. A friend of mine has them on his truck and he said they work very well in the mud and snow and tread wear is excellent.

I've got the Destination AT's on my truck as well and so far they are excellent. Great wet and dry traction and worked very well in the mud when I took them off road. Can't complain, soon they'll be tested out in snow!

Nothing in a "P" rating! You have a truck and should have truck tires.

Which version of the "Silent Armour" are you guys running? The Fortera's, or the Wranglers?

Wrangler P rated for me as I don't tow anything larger than single sled trailer a few times in winter.

20-21 miles per gallon? Must be a big hill. I get 17-18 with the wind on my back. I liked my stock 18in. They lasted 75k. I need to replace my BFG allready at 50k. I'm also looking for a long lasting, agressive, and low noise tire.
