5.4 coolant in exhaust at start up

I have seen a few posts on this problem but no follow ups. 1997 E-350 5.4l 230,000 miles smokes on start up (definitely coolant). Smoke starts 30 seconds after start up and continues for maybe 5 minutes. I was told it may be a head gasket or intake manifold gasket? what do you think? How could i tell for sure?

Next, this is a work truck (cube van) and the truck looks new. It also has a $4000 full graphic wrap on the box. The truck is large enough that it requires inspections and it always seems to need something. The question is if it's the head gasket should I replace the gasket, the engine, or the truck?

Thanks

Put another engine in from the recycler or where ever. Sounds like the old engine has had it. Sell it to offset the cost of swap. Get another engine with the wiring harness and PCM.

At that mileage, I would either look for a low mileage used engine or a new/reman with a warranty since the rest of the ride sounds like a keeper.
