Wrench party in Sept?

Would anyone be up for a wrench party sometime in Sept? Since I am getting Mater registered soon I want to get my tranny rebuilt. I was figuring we could have it at my place unless Dave Sr. is willing to let me borrow his shop if it is empty. I am not seeting anything right now cause I still have to get the body mounts finished and weld in new floors. I was thinking more towards the end of the month, unless I finish everything else sooner.

Yes, that is the game plan. I have the rebuild kit sitting on my work bench and I have a few references we can go off of.

It will most likely be the last weekend in Sept, so you will be here! Besides if I don't have the truck finished by then we will have to pull the tranny out and toss it in the back of your truck to get it to Dave Sr.'s shop.

Right now I have the drivers floorboard cut out and I am getting ready to cut out the passenger side. I also only have half the cab bolted to the frame. I am working on getting a new body bushing set, I found one that has all the pieces I need. After I get those done I will have no problem driving it.

OK I am working on the body bushings now. I am almost finished....would be done but I keep running into snags! Right now I am looking for grade 8 washers that are 1/2" inside diameter and 2" outside.

How does Sat the 26th sound for the tranny rebuild to everyone?

Alright, I finally got everything I need to finish the bushings and be done with it all! The simplest job seems to take the hardest to find parts but can be resolved with a simple solution! Tomorrow the bushings will be done if it isn't raining when I get up, then it will be just to finish the floor pans! I did get a tag for Mater today so he is street legal now!

I got the body bolted to the frame again "CHEERING" and I have a friend that is going to bring a good welder over on wed to weld in the floor pan. I will finish up the other side after we finish the tranny. So if everyone is game we could do the tranny this Sat.
