Coil on plug questions?? 2004 super duty 5.4

Should I replace all of them? I bought new plugs for the truck to put in. Just need the cops now.

What is the best COP and best deals?

Thanks!!

There's no reason to replace the coils unless they are bad.

Agree ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Regardless of what the PR materials state...OEM to Aftermarket produces the same juice!

I was also looking at this same set yesterday.IMO yeah you could replace just one but to me thats like replacing one plug wait till it starst missing then figure out which one then keep replacing as you go or start fresh with a new set and be done.

You can move the coil and see if the code follows the coil then the coil is bad. I forgot to mention this earlier you said you got new plugs not sure what brand but if there not MOTORCRAFT plugs you should probably take them back and get the Motorcraft unless you want to change them again apparently the the AUTOLITE's also work but I have no experience with them but the motorcraft's are the same price and we know they work.

I use the autolites in all our triton motors, as long as there the double platnium you will have no problem I keep a 24 pack of the app's 103 and 104's and depending on the mileage and driver is whether I go cooler or not.

Yes, I got motorcraft. I just have to look up what the gap is supposed to be.

This truck has 114,000 on it, and i dont think the previous owner ever changed the plugs or cops. Even then, you dont recommend changing the cops?

The gap should be .52-.54, some people run the gap a little bigger, I dont know why I use .54 and havn'e had a problem yet, just remember when you pull of the COP's use a blow gun and blow all the crap out of the cylinder holes before you remove the plugs, and use never sieze on the new ones, you will never have a problem again. If you drop a plug throw it away, it's not worth taking the chance.

Yes, From the reviews they have a 5 star, most are happy with them and ACCEL is usually good stuff and the price is pretty good.

The coils are a "replace when fails" item NOT a "replace after X miles" item. There is no more need to replace the coil than say the left front fender or the front bumper just because it has x number of miles on it. I have seen some cops go over 300,000 miles without a problem. They fail randomly, not on a mileage or time schedule.

How would I know that?
If you really want to know, check here:

You can test or you can guess. The choice is yours.
