Have been having a problem lately with my speedo .When sitting still if I press the brake pedal it will go to 11 MPH.A assumed it was the VSS,after checking with AE it showed the rear speed sensor at 11 MPH will sitting still.So I went to autozone and picked up a new VSS for the rearend.Got home and installed it.Same problem.It used to do this every once in a while ,I figured VSS from reading the forums and never got around to fixing it but for the last 2 days it has been doing it nonstop.It even does it with the key on and engine off.

I removed my tuner to make sure it wasn't somehow making it do,also had to get it out to send back for updates.I am about to unwire my brake con troller to see if that changes anything.

Any ideas on anything else to check or try?

 

I checked out the brake controller and this is what I found.With the controller unplugged the speedo does nothing unusual.With the controller in place if I hit the brakes ,truck running or key on,but not moving then the speedo goes to 11 MPH if while doing this I manually ingauge the break controller the speedo will go back down to zero as soon as I let off the lever that manually engauges the trailer brakes the speedo will come back up to 11 MPH.I have a tekonsha prodigy

 

Might see if any wires are chafed, I would also talk with Tekonsha

 

I am going to try another controller tomm. .Its the old one I had when I upgraded to the prodigy.If this fixes it then I am assuming that it had to be the prodigy.I will also try to get in touch with them Monday.
Has anyone had any similar problems with a tekonsha cotroller?
