Hi everyone I have a 89 f450 with the 460. I looking at a 90 f350 with a 7.3 idi complete running truck the 460 is bad so i was thinking of converting to diesel. My cab is also rotted out and the new truck cab is in good shape so i will be putting the 90 cab on the 89 450. what i would like to know what issues i will have will the diesel bolt in (are the k frames the same) any surprises i should be aware of any help will be appreciated thanks

 

first i dont know where you are but are you going to be able to register and drive the truck after this swap? worth looking into. i am not sure if the fames are the same what i would do is to look at them and take mesurments, with enough work anything can be done. my guess and it is just that a guess is that the motor mounts and trans mounts will be different, and the spring rates too....you might need a new fuel tank and lines and pump and filter.....most thing you should be able to get off the 90 truck. again just look at it and take a lot of mesurments first. good luck!
