I have been trying for the past two days to remove the radio on my 2000 Ford Expy. I've got the special U shaped tools to remove it. I have removed the dash board cover in front of the radio.
Are there any tricks to getting the radio out?
I've tried pulling the U shaped tools apart as I pull out but that didn't work.
Also, what is everyone's opinion on whether I should pick up another Expy radio from the junkyard vs putting in an after market one? My Expy has the CD changer, so that may make a difference.
And one more question, I've got an opportunity to get a radio with a CD player from the same year Expy. My radio currently has a tape player in it. Should the two be interchangeable?
Far as removing radio make sure U shaped tool is inserted all the way or will not unlock, I myself don't use the tool. I have used 4 phillips head screw drivers or allen wrenchs or combo of the two, just what ever I can find that the correct diameter
