Why are gallery ranking all the same?
I have noticed that almost all of the rankings for the galleries that have been up for a while are about 4.5 or so. Is this just a statistical thing or is there a reason? Not that I get some prize for a high ratings or anything. Am just curious why all these nice rides are not at least a "5" which should represent perfectly average. After wasting 2 years of my life, I feel like my truck is easily a 5.8734569 OK, I'll try to go on with my life now.

Its because a few people seem to get their kicks giving everyone but themselves bad rankings. What they probably don't know is that all votes have the IP address logged and once I get around to cross-referencing their IPs to the user logs that I'll yank their User Gallery. Also, rankings have NOTHING to do with the Ride of The Week award.

Why are gallery ranking all the same?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Mar-02 AT 11:30 PM (EST)]I will not vote for myself cause I want to know what people really think of my pics.
I also base my vote on clearness of the picture, unless the picture is an oringanl like of a rare truck or something else creative.
I have voted really low due to the photo seemed like it was done with a video camera and it was totally fuzzy
I am also a sucker for voting anything that resembles snow.

Considering:
What you have done, and the Photo's of it,
I would say your truck would be in the running.

Thanks for the responce. But you did not answere my question. You turnrd it back to me. Just off the top of my head I would judge first of all the over all view of the end product. Next would be the Quality of work. If it was a collector I would see how far the owner when to keep it orginal. It is very hard to come up with a check list because there is such a vast difference in years/types etc. I would recommend the if it was possible to set up different
areas Eg: Street Rod, Historic, Restore etc. I think that would make it a little eaiser to judge. Thanks Art

Why are gallery ranking all the same?
There is no hard set criteria for ride of the week. As mentioned in another thread, it depends entirely upon what we feel like that week. Sometimes just catching our eye, like a photo of a truck jumping 20 feet in the air, will do it.
I'm not going to turn it into a beauty contest because there are lots of cool trucks that aren't pretty.

Good call Ken. Do you pick rides of the week from just our galleries? Or is being eligible to get a ride of the week honor something else that we have to do?
