One of the girls that work for me has an 03 Expedition, this morning she called letting me know that she had a dead battery and would be late. After getting to work and getting the truck to the auto center on base they where able to pull these codes

p1600 Loss of KAM Power, Circuit Open
p1602 Immobilizer Module-(PCM) Communications Fault
p0171 System to lean Bank 1

If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated. Her husbands in the Army and she also works on base for a contractor.

The KAM power is Keep Alive Memory for the PCM. A blown fuse could explain codes P1600 and P1602.
(These codes could also just be the result of the dead battery.)

I've seen the P0171 code come up when the PCV elbow or hose at the top rear of the engine is cracked or collapsed.

I talked to a friend who is a mechanic in Pensacola and he said that with the dead battery and jump starting it the PCM may need the codes cleared.
