Now I have already talked to Dennis at ITP and he talked to Jody and they have no cue why I am having this issue. when i switch between my 80 tow and 140 extreme the truck shuts off, sometimes it stutters, sometimes it catches and keeps running. it does not have any issues between stock and 40 econ or 40 and 80. What has chancged however is an HPX line, and a regulated return fuel system. dennis suggested cleaning the IPR but im wondering if anyone else has any ideas.
i tow a international tractor about 2 times a month using my 60T .
i run in 80E and sometimes but not often play with 120R.
so i do change my dp tuner kind of a lot.
one time while i was rolling to a stop off the throttle i switched from 80E down to the stock setting.
well the truck became hard to steer i had the radio on loud and could not hear the motor. it took a few seconds for me to realize that the truck was dead.
this is the only time it has done this and i have tryed to do it again .
other than the once no other problems.
Do you have the dp switch mounted firmly in a spot? Mine is just held on by 2 sided tape and on a trip to ohio it just started stuttering at 70mph on the highway. Thought the turbo blew but come to find out the connection on the back of the switch was half off. When you switch to the other program watch the face of the switch and see if the outer lights for the number rotate on(light running Christmas lights), if so you have a loos connection on the cable between the switch and the chip. Hope it helps.

We will need to try and duplicate this happening. I suggest you send the chip back. We'll put it in our 2000 and see if we get the same thing. It's the only thing we can do next to Jody actually being at your truck with his scan tools monitoring the situation.

I am going to get with MNDIESEL hopefully this weekend and put the AE to the truck and see what happens on the screen when i switch tunes then if nothing strange comes up I will shelf the truck for a week and send the tuner back in for getting checked. I want to try to avoid removing the tuner because it will put my truck down for about a week since it runs single shots and my truck just wont run right without it, it will run but its not anywhere near what it is on the DP so if it is something other than the tuner (which I have no clue because it doesnt happen between the other tunes) then i want to change it out before i do remove the chip.
This being intermittent it could be several different things. If datalogs show that all points testsed are conclusive with what Jody did in the tunes it could very well be a flakey hardware issue. This will need to be checked by Jody or our manufacture.
Let us know and we'll go for there.

My truck did this shortly after I bought it (it was already chipped) , It ended up being the IPR , (stuck ) when switching . It has not done it since replacing the IPR...
