What has to be done to them? I assume the lenses are pulled for this.

Ok I made it!! LOL Yes I do have one and I absolutely love it. I didn't know they existed either until I was looking for a new(new to me) truck and came across it. I found mine at a little hole in the wall used car dealer in NY on Long Island. I bought it pretty much the way you see it, cosmetically at least. After hanging out here I've learned a ton and I've done all the other mods in my sig. The production #'s I got from Ed, our resident factory parts guru and all around great guy. The Platinum Edition's are all crew cab, short bed, 4x4's, and had to be an XLT to start with. He wasn't able to narrow down how many were diesels though. I believe it was a $1600.00 option and included the 2 tone paint, color matched door handles and mirrors, 2 tone leather seats with "Platinum Edition" embroidered in the fronts and also in the front floor mats. Mine has bright silver panels on the door panels too, I think that is also part of the package but I'm not positive.

How does it hold up? Especially in the front of the truck with wind, rain, and bugs and stuff hitting it.... You got me thinking about giving it a try!

Pete.... Yeah, every time I see your truck I think "dang, that is a nice looking truck"! How many miles do you have on it? Mine is at 122K.

No Kenny, it's not #1 of 2482, it's 1 of the 2482 produced

see on my xb i did the taillights ... they were clear so i broke them down and took the lenses off and sprayed from the inside
i know the tc and vw guys do the outside but when u prep u have to be certian there is no wax o oils on them its tough cause they are exposed to that non stop
i cant find a write up but there is a guy that sells tinted over lays they are VERY high quality he has them pre shrunk to fit diffrent cars but u might be able to get away with sending him on light and have him make u a custom set or order just a sheet from him and cut them out urself

My Platinum Edition has the '07 Harley lights and the '05 front grill. I'm gonna try and post pictures soon.

Check this out. I had an oil leak at my dipstick. I tried to fix it and ended up dropping the darn thing in the pan. This happened today. I've tried to fish it out, but have been unsuccessful. Any advice?

Oh and thank you for your replies. This forum has been extremely helpful.

Platinums are soooo nice. I remember when they were new I knew a contractor in Atlanta that had one. He tore that thing up. It made me sick.

Yes Pete, it is part of the package. If you have the front buckets with the center console, they also have the shiny handle to open it as well.
