Bronco SAS with 1 ton gear

Ahhh, its just a busted universal joint. It was no big deal, but I am going to have to deal with some axle wrap. I will have to design a traction bar that can limit axle wrap and still permit the articulation that I have worked for. Im not sure that the chebby springs will fix this. Maybe, but maybe not. I know that I do have to run a high clearance slip joint, and a larger universal. I see me looking for a 1350 yoke in the next day or two.

Right now it is in the engineering stages. That means that I have to have a few adult beverages to come up with an idea.
I do believe that it will be telescopic to achieve the length changes I am after.

telescopic
telescopic.......I never would have thought of that.......You must already have had one er two beverages to come up with that "outta the box" idea.....

Ive had this idea running around in my noodle for a little while now. I have the components and have yet to make it a reality. I have to use something that is strong and free of any binding while under load.
Very complex,,,,,,,I may need another beverage to work out the bugs, lol.

You know pal, I am really very pleased with this thing. It just feels right. It is probalby how Ford should have made them from the beginning.
Not too many people would purchase them this way, and the market may not support this type of thing, but if they did make this a production type of vehicle, I am fairly confident that they would have sold several. I know you and I are not the only ones that think a 1 ton bronco is a great idea.

Just bumping this one back up, curious what your front driveshaft and transmission crossmember ended up looking like.
I've got basically the same setup in the front of my F250 now(ended up doing the shackle reversal) and I have serious driveshaft issues. It was hitting the crossmember with the 60 and the TTB springs, now with it laying on the crossmember it is 2" above the pinion at ride height and I am pretty certain a long travel CV shaft is in order.
