Does anyone know of a good tire cleaner tough enough to get white-letter tires clean, but won't damage polished-aluminum rims (cuts out bleach-white )? My Wranglers' letters are looking rough but I don't want to kill my rims (like my 2000).
x2 on the comet and scrub brush. Ive been using it for years on many types of tire and rim combos for white letters and never an ill effect. It also works really good at the same time to remove all the tire shine and dressing that is left on the tire and has attracted dirt. Makes the tire look really clean so next time you apply shine it makes it look really good.
Bleche White for me, never had a prob with the alum rims, but I do rinse immediately after scrubbing with brush. My old boss used to shine his tires with sugar water, is that thrifty or what?
