Question Power Steering Fluid 2003 Ranger?

The owners manual says Mercon ATF...

But, is it Mercon V?... or Type F?

I can not find plain old Mercon ATF...

What should I use? (Doing a flush)

I just flushed mine with Dexron III / Mercon. Reading the product site, I believe the Castrol Mercon V product is an acceptable replacement for Mercon.

Castrol USA - MERCON V

Read through this TSB & note any system specifing Type "F" fluid, is to continue using it.

Ford no longer markets or licenses the old "Mercon" recipe & has changed the Motorcraft Mercon-V recipe to make it a multi-vehicle fluid, that can now be used in former "Mercon" applications.

If we choose to use other than Motorcraft, check to be sure it meets Fords new recipe specifications for a multi-vehicle fluid.
