Just wondering how many of you guys use a anti wrap trac bar in the rear of your leaf spring trucks and what benefits it has for anti wrap and better traction. I recently was in a 4x4 comp and snapped my 1350 1 ton cv after I stomped the skinny pedal which had so much torque it actually flattened my new Eaton 1/4 steel spring perches(which I welded on when I built my axle) causing the axle to rotate up so much it put my cv in a bind and it snapped off from the mounting flange on my np205. I guess next time I will box in the front and back off the perch for more strength. Didn't really think they would bend though...lol. So i need a trac bar i figure so this wont happen again. i've done some searching and found this style with a shackle so it will still flex and a two point on the diff so it can't rotate. only thing i would add would be a threaded heim(or slip tube)mounted on the front so the threaded potion could twist as well when in a major flex. let me know what you think
Looks good, wish I had the resources to make some trac bars. I do get a lot of wrap when I stomp it. Never break anything but my bearings in my u joints like to go more often than usual. The slip tube is an interesting idea to keep it more pliable. One of my buddies put a trac bar on his jeep and it did make it a little less flexible but not much, so I would question how much it would limit a truck.
