AFE cold air intake stage 2

I was thinking about this upgrade.. Anybody want to give their experience with it? Power increase? Sound increase? Mpgs increase? Recommend it? If no why?

Thats a pretty good intake system. That's a pretty decent price too, most I've seen have been 499-ish.

This would be a cheaper option: http://www.riffraffdiesel.com/mm5/me...e=F731-IN-6637

Do a search on this site for 6637 and you will find a ton of info. I picked up my cold air intake off of CL cheap but if I had it to do over again I would go with the 6637. Do you have a chip/exhaust/gauges? If you have a chip then with a cold air intake or 6637 you will probably get turbo surge. Then you are looking at a minumun of getting a wicked wheel for the turbo.

I have the AFE Stage II intake. Using a Pro Dry S filter currently. I have two of the blue, oiled ones also. I switched to the dry as I was tired of that oily goo getting all over. No issues at all and am happy with the set up.

Personally if I switch from the 6637 I would be going with the S&B set-up. Great filtration at an even better price. They just came out with there dry filtration package as well if you prefer that. Here is a link for you...

I am just starting my research on which kit to buy...I have read the AFE kits have better airflow?wrong? Will s and b get me better mileage?sound?vs AFE..I am looking for better mileage ,more sound and more power and obviously better filtration..I dont have a chip and dont plan on it...I see the cost diff is huge between these two filters, the more expensive MUST be better?Just kidding, but why is the cost of AFE so much more?

I put an AFE Stage 2 PG 7 on my Ex, and my F250 was purchased with a stage 1 setup already on it.

I plan on changing the stage 1 on my 250 to the S&B setup as soon as funds allow, because it won't flow enough air to keep up with the demands from my 38R.

So far, I've been happy with the stage 2 on the Ex, but if I had to do it over, I'd opt for the better flowing, better filtering, cheaper price of the S&B.
