Well I've done just about everything else I can think of other than a set of PI heads and an intake or a SC (boy that would be nice). So I started reading some old posts and noticed alot of people were running larger throttle bodies. Was just wondering what people have to say about these now since I never see any threads about them anymore.
Also is there an advantage to having a dual bore TB (BBK) over a single bore (ACCUfab) or is there a disadvantage?
I did the mod with a BBK dual 65mm. Cant say what it did because I did almost my mods at one time. I would say it cant hurt. If you dont do signifcant exhaust mods it may not do much. I did headers, true duals, superchip tuner and airbox mod at one time. Runs like a mf.
I have Headers, muffler, tuner, and a K&N filter. If I do install this I will more than likely call up Mike at 5 Star and see if he can fine tune the setup to work best with that TB.
I saw somewhere that the lightning throttle body flows around 1250cfm and the aftermarket single blades flow over 1500cfm. The V10 may use the same throttle body as the gen 2 lightning at least they look the same. When you think about it 1250 cfm should be plenty. How many big block gas motors are out there making more power than the stock V10 on an 850cfm carb, lots? I thought about the larger throttle body too until I came across the 1250cfm numbers and thought on my internally stock 2V V10 it will not do anything for it. My $.02.

Forgive me I'ma little slow at the moment, but basically what you're saying is that I should try to find a gen 2 Lightning TB?
I would bet the stock TB flows more than enough air. The Vortech Supercharger adds up to 154 HP using the stock TB with some fuel system mods. Short of building a racing engine, the stock TB should meet your every need. Some even say a Cold Air Intake isn't necessary (not me though). Just my $.02.
If you go for it then be sure to let us know if it helps...
I bored the stock throttle body on a 4.0 6cy jeep engine. It helped but the suprise was how it helped at low RPM and at part throttle??? I fiqured it would only be noticed at WOT. It would be nice to get some more feedback from those that did it on a V10.

I would be one of those who say you don't need the intake, especially if you do a Zoodad or similar to your front box.
