EFI for My 51F1

Well I bought a donor car today for the 5.0 and AOD it has. I plan to swap engine and transmission into my 51 Ford. Some small challenges but overall it will be a cool swap and give me the ability to drive my truck to work and restore a Ford in a Ford. I cannot stand the truck have a oil slinging Buick 3.8!

Sounds like a good move! Which year and model car did you pick up? Some of them have harnesses that lend themselves a little better to swaps than others.

Sweet! This is something I'd like to do someday I think.

If memory serves don't forget about the fuel pump

Nice! Be sure to post some pictures and take pictures of any problems you come across... lol I'll probably be looking to do the same in a year

I will document the process and write a tech article once I am done! Always good to pass on lessons learned.

I too am using ECM IV 5.0L with AOD and donor harness. I've eliminated the air pump, and return tube on exhaust manifold. Am having issues with high idle but hope that clears when I sort out the vacuum connections. Good Luck with your install, keep us posted.

GT40 definitely show pics. My 55 has a Speed Density 5.0 out of a 88 Crown Vic. I am running a 1990 Ranger External Frame mounted pump.

Tip49,
If I remember to I will ask my friend who did mine what maybe causing you high idle problems
