Keith I am very impressed that is a beautiful truck. Very well done. You can look at it and still tell what it is but you also see how much was changed and modified. I hate to bring it back up but this puts the tool time truck to shame. And I will venture to guess Keith had alot of hands on.

Friend of mine has a 3 door that was built in 56. Was on a ton chassis. Going back 1/2 ton. There was a company that did these conversions back then.

JML,

Would you be willing to come to Denver for one? I have a 56 that runs fine. I can send you pictures if you email me at [email protected]

Hey Vintage56,

Have you seen this one? 1956 Ford F-600 Cabover - Ford - for sale in Austin, TX 78735 | Yakez

If it were closer AND I had a little more storage space.... hey, at least it's on your side of the continent.

Jim

ps: The black crew is probably built that way in '56. Railroads and some utility company bought them. They were farmed out like Marmon-Herrington 4x4's, hearses and ambulances. The three-door setup with exposed hinges are tells. I saw one in bare metal at a shop near Cincinnati several years ago. The welds were visible; they used the rear of the window frame from a driver's door, to make the front of the rear passenger door.

I know I'm not an owner or builder of these and I've yet to see a crew can 53-56 in person but damn those look good and Keith that's one bad *** truck!!!! If I had the $$$ and the time and space in the future I'd def do it. A Coe is really cool too in my books. Best of luck

I am also gearing up to make my attempt at a 53/56 build. Mine will end up on my 95 F350 powerstroke frame. My wife and I just bought a 55 F700 this weekend as it will be used as the cab. Hopefully will fine a 56 F250 for the rest of the body.
