Cool Uh-oh what happened?

After changing out the #7 COP and plug, the engine is now smoking.

The COP replacement went off with out a problem....so I thought. Truck fired up and ran / idled fine. Then my wife came up and asked why it was smoking.

White / gray smoke is coming out of the exhaust. The oil looks ok (no chocolate milk shake at this point), but the coolant kind of concerns me. It is not a nice clear green, really more murky.

So any opinions if the COP change out is related to the smoke or is it just a coincidence that the truck started smoking? Is this a valve issue or is it more likely that I blew a head gasket?

Thanks,
Craig

Did a code lead you to change the COP? Sounds like a headgasket problem.

I had a P0307 Cylinder 7 misfire. Replacing the COP seems to have taken care of the miss and rough idle / running.

After letting the truck run for a while and taking a 30 mile (15 each way) trip teh smoking has ceased. The truck ran fine and there appear to be no other issues at this point.

Don't know where the smoke came from, but glad it's stopped.

Probably built up junk in the cylinder from it not firing. The new coil burned it out.

I spoke too soon. It puffs out a big whiteish /gray cloud of smoke on start up. Seems to run fine and smokes little if any at all once warmed up.

Any thoughts?

So did you find out whats wrong, my truck has the same coolant problem. I was thinking it was the head gasket or intake manifold gasket.
