need help picking out an ATF for my truck.

I was at walmart checking out what they had in stock.

they have the

--walmart brand ATF for $2.70 per qt.

--Valvoline High Mileage ATF for $3.30 qt

--Penzoil AFT for about $13.00 a gallon

Is there anything wrong with the WalMart brand ATF?

Is It bad to use the High Mileage ATF?

I will give you a quote from my old auto shop teacher " If you keep up on your Maintenance, and do your oil changes when you are supposed to, then any oil will work"

That being said, I always go with a higher end oil, and it is always a synthetic that I use..And yes, I am including trans fluid as a oil..

Well guys, I understand where your coming from, scheduled fluid changes are key but ANY fluids I would have to disagree. Especially with tranny fluid, you want to make sure it compatable with your trans, Mark our tranny expert would tell us so. If it says Mercon or Mercon V you can use it, not sure about just ATF, might want to wait for more chime ins. With all these changes with you can use this now, you can't use this, very confusing.

As long as it is Mercon or Mercon V, then it is fine. Not ANY ATF...

I personally use Mobil1 Syn ATF (Mercon V) in mine. Not cheap... LOL
