03 Navigator - interior lights won't turn off???

So, I have no idea what is up - the interior lights will not go off. Car running or not. The only way to get them off is to turn the rocker switch all the way until it clicks them off, but then there are no lights and all dash lights are on the dimmest setting... If you leave them off for a while then turn the rocker back on (about 10 minutes or so) they will not come back on as they should until a door is opened. Then voila!!! they stay on again... Anyone have any clue??

Is the switch bad? I've also noticed that the on-board computer display continuously shows a door open even though all doors have been verified closed...are they related and what would cause the open door issue?

Thanks all! This is our first Navigator!

Spray your door latches with WD-40, this is a common issue and the WD-40 will take care of it. Don't forget to spray your rear hatch and window latches also. The switches for your lights are in the latches and over time can get gummed up, the WD-40 cleans them up.

Your door switch is stuck. Spray a lot of WD-40 into the door latch, then open and close it many times. That usually frees up the stuck switch.

Mines. Does the opposite. Everything is fine with the doors. When I deactivate my after market alarm I open the door and the lights does not come on. If I open the ignition and close it again my interior lights come and they work the way the supposed to work.
