We are getting ready to use the in-laws TT as a test to see if we want to trade the Windstar for it.

The trailer has sat with little use other than Church members borrowing it on rare occasions.

It has a Sunchaser awning, seems simple enough. I vaugely remember how to use one based on borrowing my Dad's when he was alive.

However I pulled it out to wipe it down at the house to check it before use and now I can't get it to go back in.

It has a strap in the middle that my wife gently pulled on while my oldest and I extended the support arms and got them locked in place.

There is a locking tab on the front arm for what appears to be a device on the roller of the awning, but I have no info and in-laws are away.

Any thoughts or help would be great.

Sounds like you need to release the awning lock. That locking tab that you see on the side of the awning roller is like the reverse lever on a socket wrench. Pushed one way the awning will go down...simply flip the lever the other direction and the awning should roll right up.

 

yup. locking tab on the right hand side of the roller, move in into the opposite direction it was in to extend the awning. Remember that strap the wife held? Have her hold it again so you have a controlled rollup. The side bars should all be loose so the travel freely as the awning rolls up.

Don't forget once it is up to lock the travel locks before departure.
