04-08 emblems on 97-03

Hey, I just ordered some 04-08 emblems off ebay, got all 3 badges and the big Ford on the back for 53 dollar shipped. I know I have seen this done somewhere on one of these forums, but has anyone done this?? what needs to be done? my tailgate has a big dent in the middle, so when we repair that im going to have the emblem put in the middle, and then the new F-150 badge on the side.. let me know and post pics if anyone has this done!!

If you take the Ford emblem off the rear, there will be a recessed oval with 2 small holes and one large hole in it. Could be filled in with bondo I suppose...but just so you don't have any suprises

I'd leave the tailgate emblem and add the center one, show off your FORD PRIDE!!!

Are you leaving the old F150 badge on the tailgate? Im sure most wouldn't notice it, but you might as well go all out if you are doing the rest. Alot of people will take nail polish remover (from the old lady, hopefully not your toolbox!) and remove the black paint from the "old" F150 badge so it's all chrome. I've always intended to do it on every Ford i've owned, but have never got around to it...

I will be replacing all 3 badges, and hopefully fabricating the FORD badge into the middle of the tailgate.. as to what im going to do with the original emblem i do not know, my whole tailgate needs repainting so maybe we will put some filler into its spot, but i do not know yet

i wouldn't trust using body filler, thats a pretty deep recession. If anything, cut the area out and weld in a filler piece. As to the center badge, you should just need to drill an alignment hole, or else cut the alignment barb off the badge.

Cutting and welding filler plates and welding, lot of work for a couple of emblems. If I wanted 04 and up emblems on my truck, I would buy an 04 and up F150.

jb weld to repair F-150 emblem on cowl??

wife's dad passed away last year and she was able to inherit his 76 f-150...she grew up in that truck...long story short...i would love to totally restore it but that just isn't feasible. the emblem on the cowl (the F-150) is broke between the 1 and 5. will jb weld work to repair it or is there a better fix without buying a new emblem?

Just walk up to a Ford truck tailgate simple lift and lay it in your truck bed and drive off.
They are doing it all over the country if you look at the news and the LAW is letting people go free.
Mind you Ford owners are more than likey to hit you on the head with a bat or something as they tend to like their trucks.
