Does the 3V 5.4 gets better mpg then the 2V 5.4?

gas mileage... as for 2v and 3v... its displacement.. camshaft profile.. Driving style.. vehicle weight, vehicle shape, gearing, tire size, hills or NOT..
so 2v to 3v almost nothing.. as one exhaust valve , unless its much larger. and its NOT.
and cruise control does NOT give you better mileage unless you are on pool table land. as going up hills it will give full power if necessary to maintain mph... humans most of the time will back off the throttle.

It's more than just the extra valve though. I've always been of the understanding that the VCT enables the PCM to optimize efficiency. For example, it can increase valve overlap to decrease pumping losses when operating at part throttle. I haven't done a direct comparison with identical trucks, but my '07 5.4L crew cab F150 was more efficient on the highway than my '03 regular cab F150 with the 4.2L. Lots of things could have played a part in that, but I always thought the VCT that comes with the 3V heads had something to do with that.
