ATTN. USE Motorcraft Oil Filters ONLY!

Attention all you Fram Users. I work at Albion Motors Ford-Merc. We have reciever 5 5.4L in for service after we replaced there FRAM filter with a Motorcraft. What happened was the fram filter fell apart and let particles into the oil which clogged the oil passages. The effect was the engine will start to make a rattle noise, from the top end not recieving the correct amount of oil. We have cut open both filters. I will post pictures as soon as possable. Just dont want any one else to ruin there engines.

That's crazy, thanks for the info.

I actually have been thinking about changing my own oil and will make sure I grab the Motorcraft filters.

Motorcraft makes a fine oil filter for PSD. I have been using them for years with very good oil analysis results back from Blackstone labs.

Stay away from Fram oil filter especially on your diesel.

Best why to tell is to contact http://www.blackstone-labs.com/ and ask for a free test kit. and next time you change your oil, send them a oil sample. they will E-mail you back the result on how well your oil and oil filter is performing.

Been using case/IH filters for years with no problems. By the way ford buys the 6.0 filters from IH and repacks them. Added cost no doubt. I get the 6.0 oil filters for $19.90 and yes they are racor. with the same #'s. Fuel filter # is 1847170C93 and it was $30.95

If you use WIX brand you wont have any issues either there the best and the oldest filter company around they make them for Motorcraft as well they make them for Fram too but Fram has lower specs in there filter design so WIX makes them according the the Companys specs that order them. Motorcraft are very good but if you get WIX line for Ford there the best and WIX gives a warrenty with there line of filters over and above the others brands.

example your wife get car to shop for change oil and they open hood see that sticker say ???? what you think it should say?

I would order 50 stickers for myself since our family have lot ford vehicles so they don't know what to use it.
