the converter works off of the input shaft of the trans. I don't think there is any way to put it in wrong. if it slides on then its in. and that's it. you bolt it to the motor and thats that. the shaft has splines so i really don't see how it can be installed wrong.

it sounds like it might be low on oil, or there is still air in the system or something. check the oil and keep an eye on that.

why did you replace it in the first place. if your old one crapped out then i would say your trany is shot also. what did you replace it with.

it can be installed wrong, ive had them slide on the splins but not spin freely. sounds like its low on oil or when the original TC went out it started burning clutches up...what trans temps did you see before the new tc install?

No temp gage,no trouble w/trans other than a lot of noise from tc.As I found out on this site a noisy tc is considered a sign of trouble.I never new how much noise it was making till I got near another 99/psd like mine.He had about a 130k on his and said that was the trouble with his.The trans shifts better now than befor. The od on/of works. My fluid level is a little high right now.Havent drivin it yet today.

Also There are adjustments on the cable/electric shifter thing on the side of the trans.there is a line on the yoke and one on the plastic part,I lined them up and put the shifter cable in the middle of the slotted bracket that it connects to.I had some help on this job and did not see it befor it was taken apart.

I would check to make sure the linkage is adjusted correctly, you might not be in the right spot causing fluid to take the wrong turns. I will have to look through gallery to see if there is anything in there of where mine was at. I would think you should be able to tell where it was based on dirt locations behind the yellow clip.

Running the trans fluid high isn't good either... with it too high it will get into the moving parts, aerate and provide no lubrication. Not what's the matter here but something that does need to be taken care of

I have only taken a few short trips around town 10/20mi. The first time you drive it it doesnt want to shift into 3rd unless you lift off pedle.after that its fine untill I shut it of and start it up again.I will lower fluid level asap. Was hoping to take it to work this week 200mi away but now I`m scaired!

I'd pull a quarter of a quart and see if that helps any. I bet the trans is hurt though, sorry to hear or say that. Good luck.
