Would the brackets for the grill on a 72 LTD be the same as a 71?

The grilles are different as are the brackets. Which year is it, which brackets are you referin' to?

There are no grille brackets for either year, the ones you are prolly referin' to are actually for the headlamps, and/or the center lock support.

Flip-flop headlamps: LTD only. Galaxies had exposed headlamps.
